Day 7 (April 19,2022, Tuesday)

We crossed two big creeks that were super cold and we went through the coolest tunnel and yodeled and had a pack of devils behind (it was a family with many children).

We met two women on horses after the tunnel and two families at the tunnel and one hiker later on the trail. It was a 6 mile hike to the camp at 6.4, with a .4 mile detour (much shorter than the previous ‘detour’)!

. .

We stopped at 12 miles because Lisa was being a wimp with the goal . of 18 miles being too far away. We have determined that 9 to 10 miles seems to be Lisa’s mark so psychologically she’s going to break through that tomorrow.

“It would be helpful if Lisa’s knee and foot would work great and not hurt or anything. we saw that snake I am all for today was the snake which we saw him was brown yeah yeah yeah”

small fire

We’re at a fabulous campground it’s really really nice lots of firewood and after a couple of attempts we have fire.

“We have enough food to get us through Fontana Lodge. Right or that, I can wait, which ever one (dinner choice talk), yeah 12 miles a day, 12 miles a day we can do it, yeah we’ve been doing 12 miles are you OK”?

We saw lots of little purple irises. The day was cool but sunny without clouds. Yet another excellent day on our excellent adventure.

“How cold the creek was! you’re right it hurt a lot! yeah The water was super cold!”
