Day 5 (April 17, 2022, Sunday)

Sharpshooter Training!

Neck gator always a good idea!

We’re ready to go!!

Joey the driver, picked us up at 9:45 am from the Super Eight (which was fabulous)! We had clean clothes, and a good night’s rest even with the fire alarm. And they let us check in at 10am yesterday!

The first half of the day was uphill until 1 o’clock and then we had lunch. It was downhill all the way the rest of the afternoon.

“We saw a black snake little baby one black or gray oh charcoal gray and Lisa heard a woodpecker it was a ghostly it would peck a ghost probably wasn’t even real it was an illusion but I heard it anyhow that was when you were hiking ahead of me right now no it was now I was behind you yeah I heard it four times.”

We considered stopping at 3pm because it was supposed to rain around 4pm, and then we kept going and we were in a little bubble and it didn’t rain until we got to camp.

“We had another beautiful Fire TV night and cooked some wood and it’s totally different from yesterday‘s fire but equally stupendous yes great entertainment.”

12.3 miles 10am-ish to 5 or 5:30pm
