Day 23 (May 5, 2022, Thursday)

“Whew! This was a long day. Oh yeah we made it to the shelter, the shelter was really nice.”

The trail maintenance in Georgia has been really nice.

Magical ferns everywhere!

 .

.

Flora abounds, new varieties and some we’ve seen before.

   .

.

We had a hot road walk; it was very long and we hiked through the community of cabins which was beautiful. Ken found cookies on the side of the road and ate them. The asphalt walk was miserable.

“Ken found the sacred white albino turtle shel;, it has brought

much dignity to our hike. It is recognized wherever we go.”

19 miles, 11 1/2 hours
