Day 13 (April 25, 2022, Monday)

Hardest day on the BMT!

USA or Lisa? You decide..

Met some nice folks at the top of the hill bearing gifts of food!

  • Kim – section hiker
  • Jamie – trail angel with magical raspberry cheese, apples, and super cool slippers (couldn’t figure out the name but they have a tree of life logo)
  • Kathy aka @Happy Storm – going to do marketing for the BMT

Wonderful trail angles and trail magic. Jamie weighed our packs. Ken’s pack 30 lbs | Lisa’s pack 23 lbs

The afternoon hike was the best – fairyland tree roots and rocks.

We are camping on top of the mountain at Naked Ground, with an amazing view of the Nantahala mountain range.

“We hiked 6.2 miles at .9 miles an hour! 6 miles of 3200 ft up. OK, this was the hardest day ever, even harder than Day 12.”

Ken put blue and green and all the colors in our fire last night. It was romantic and beautiful!. Ken set up camp (again).

6.2 miles, 6 hours ? felt like 10 hours..
