Day 24 (May 6, 2022, Friday)

last night’s forecast

Cloudy cool morning at the shelter we had to ourselves.

.

  .

A beautiful hike and the easy walking road and the store closed at five but we were able to re-supply and they had wonderful cake at the store. We had considered stopping at the restaurant that serves smoked trout but then thought we might miss the resupply opportunity. It was a good call because they closed at 5pm instead of 7pm.

“lots of Fern islands waving hello to us, the rain was in the morning and we saw a box turtle and there was a beautiful meadow.”

.

.

The trail angel had an area for hikers to leave their trash, that was so nice. The rain was very nice to us and kept off while we were hiking up the hill but started as soon as we got to the top of the hill after 8am.

“Lisa lost her trash bag rain-cover.”

Lots of wind and a tornado watch for the area.. it looked sketch for a moment, but the bubble was good to us and the wind stopped while we were at the trail angel spot.

The Blue Ridge area is gorgeous and the landscape was colorful and nicely done. There was a beautiful sculpted horse at the Legacy BNB; it was made of branches
